Vegan Holiday Essentials!

Vegan Holiday Essentials

1. Shampoo & Conditioner
Your favourite shampoo and conditioner are must haves when going on holiday. My favourite duo at the moment has to be Faith in Nature's Pineapple & Lime shampoo and conditioner as the scents are great for when on holiday.

2. Body Wash
When it comes to showering I really like it when all of my scents match, so obviously the Faith in Nature Pineapple & Lime shower gel goes great with the shampoo and conditioner duo that I like!

3. Toothy Tabs
These are great for travelling as they're small and light, which is great if you have limited space in your suitcase! My favourite flavour of LUSH's Toothy Tabs has to be 'Dirty' as they're not overpowering and they taste just like a minty toothpaste, but obviously better.

4. Solid Deodorant
LUSH's Aromaco Solid Deodorant is another product that LUSH produce that's great for travelling. Take as much or as little as you like and it still won't take up as much room or weight like a spray can or two would!
Read my personal review here.

5. Sunscreen
Don't forget your sunscreen! Lovea's SPF 30 spray is currently my favourite sun protection right now as it goes on nicely and you're not left feeling greasy from it. It also smells lovely which is always a great bonus when it comes to sunscreen.
Read my personal review here.

6. Tanning Oil
This Lovea Tanning Oil is great if you're into tanning or want to top up your tan before leaving your perfect destination. Please don't forget that most tanning oils contain very low SPF's or even none at all.
Read my personal review here.

7. Toner Water
My favourite toner to use during the Summer (and all year round!) is the Tea Tree Toner Water from LUSH. Simply spritz over your face and wipe away with a cotton pad or just use for a quick freshen up when you're in the heat. Great for spot prone / oily skin.

8. Lip Balm
Don't forget to protect your lips from the sun as well as everything else! This SPF 15 lip balm by Hurraw! is a must have when on holiday and even to use all year round.

Salt of the Earth Pure Aura Lavender & Vanilla Natural Deodorant Spray - Review*

Fresh as a daisy!

Crystal Spring have taken their award-winning Salt of the Earth Natural Deodorant Spray and added the most charming 100% natural scent that they could find. Fragranced with a fusion of over fifteen natural botanical extract and oils, the lasting impression is a gorgeous lavender and vanilla fragrance that is fresh, floral and sweet. Like the rest of the Salt of the Earth deodorant range Pure Aura is made from 100% natural ingredients including soothing organic aloe vera and antibacterial honeysuckle. So how does it work? The deodorant itself works by leaving a thin layer of natural mineral salts that rests on the surface of your skin, providing you with protection that lasts longer. These mineral salts inhibit the growth of bacteria, the cause of body odour. This deodorant is free from, aluminium chlorohydrate, alcohol, CFC's, parabens and triclosan.

You may have come across an old review of mine of this deodorant but an unscented version. This one that I'm reviewing here was kindly sent to me from Crystal Spring. It has a soft, sweet smelling scent of lavender and vanilla which isn't strong or overpowering. The spray is a non sticky liquid and when sprayed over your armpits you're left with a thin layer of product to protect you throughout the day. I have noticed that it does stop me from smelling but it does make me sweat a lot more, especially when at work or exercising. The more sweating than usual also happened with the unscented version. The only good thing that I like about this deodorant is that it doesn't leave white or yellow marks on your clothes. The product itself is said to be great for sensitive underarms and also younger skin as it contains no harsh chemicals like most unnatural deodorants do!

To celebrate I decided to host a LUSH Cosmetics giveaway (UK only), see how to enter below and good luck!

LUSH Cosmetics Ocean Salt Self-Preserving & Alcohol Free Face & Body Scrub - Review

Salty like the ocean!

Limes steeped in glycerine, grapefruit and lashings of salt go into this invigorating face and body scrub. The salty, citrus fragrance is refreshing on the skin and mind, like diving into the cool blue ocean. Sea salt is rich in minerals and excellent for scrubbing away any dead skin. Lush Cosmetics have also added rich, silky avocado butter, coconut oil and seaweed absolute into this scrub to keep our skin soft, smooth and conditioned.

Did you know that they are four different types of this scrub... there's the original Ocean Salt which isn't suitable for vegans as it contains lanolin (yuck!), there's a self-preserving one which has alcohol in it, one that isn't self-preserving but is alcohol free and this one, which is lanolin free, alcohol free and self-preserving! I've been using this scrub on my face for a few weeks now and I think it's finally safe to say that I've found a facial scrub that I like. My favourite aspects of this scrub is that it's thick, great smelling and I love the nicely sized lumps of salt in the product. I love the scent as it's a really fresh citrus smell and it leaves my face feeling wide awake. I also feel that my skin doesn't dry out afterwards and my skin is left feeling quite soft and oil free. The best thing about this product is that it contains silken tofu, yes you read it right, tofu!

Cottons Applicator Regular Tampons & Regular Flow Ultra Thin Pads With Wings - Revie

Be Natural.

Cottons Applicator Regular Tampons

Cottons tampons give you protection you can count on. They are just as effective as other brands, but unlike most other brands (which are mostly made from synthetic materials like rayon, polypropylene and polyethylene), Cottons are only made from 100% natural cotton. Cottons tampons are also hypo-allergenic and biodegradable. This sized tampon is suitable for a medium flow of approximately 6-9g of absorbency.

When I got my tampons out of their box I realised that they looked exactly the same as another brand I had come across! The only difference between the other brand and Cottons is that Cottons tampons are made with organic cotton and the other branded tampons are not. I found these tampons comfortable to use and I didn't have any problems with them regarding leaks or product quality.

Regular Flow Ultra Thin Pads With Wings

Cottons Ultra Thin Pads are highly effective and discreet, but unlike other pad brands Cottons also have a unique 100% cotton coversheet, which makes them very comfortable and hypo-allergenic. These sized pads are suitable for a medium flow and are made from 100% fragrance free natural first grade cotton.

These pads are one of the brands that I've enjoyed using. I find the shape of them to be comfortable and they fit really well. I've read that some people found the glue on these pads was causing the pads to not stick very well, but I found that they lasted well for over two hours! My only problem was that the pad seemed to bunch up in the middle after some time and I think this is due to them being a little wider than other branded pads. They also seem to be made in China (unlike the tampons) which I didn't know when purchasing and I'm not really sure what that means!?
Overall I will definitely be repurchasing the tampons again, but I'm not 100% sure if the pads are actually cruelty free.

Tampons are £2.75 for 16 and Pads are £2.15 for 14 both from

Lovea Natural Monoi & Coconut Tanning Oil (No SPF) & Natural SunscreenSpray (SPF 30) - Review*

Be a sun goddess!

I decided to choose these two Lovea products from to review this month as the sun was starting to come out and I needed new vegan and cruelty free sun protection and tanning oil!

Lovea Natural Sunscreen Spray (SPF 30)

Lovea sunscreens are certified organic and come with HIGH UVA/UVB ratings. They exceed the toughest E.U rules on SPF protection and they're also made from natural ingredients which help protect your skin. This SPF 30 cream is lightly scented with natural essential oils and provides HIGH UVA & UVB protection. The formula is water resistant, non greasy and applies without white traces. Lovea is coral safe and contains natural mineral sun blocks combined with certified organic, bio-degradable plant extracts.

I've really enjoyed using this sunscreen (when the suns actually been out!) and it's a great sized product that you can keep in your bag at all times. Like most sunscreens you get that 'smell', the coconut smell is a personal favourite of mine. This isn't like your usual sunscreen smell though, as it smells like sweet flowers, which is just as nice and a little bit different from the usual scent. Lovea claim that this sunscreen of theirs is water resistant, non greasy and applies without traces and I agree with all of these statements. I think this has to be the nicest sunscreen I've applied so far, it's really smooth, it doesn't leave white marks and it actually leaves your skin feeling really soft. My only problem would be that I personally find it quite expensive and it wouldn't necessarily last you a weeks holiday in the sun when applying everyday.

Lovea Natural Monoi & Coconut Tanning Oil (No SPF)

This Tahitian Monoi Oil formula hydrates, nourishes and smoothes your skin whilst helping you develop an ultra fast tan. The oil has a double use as it can also be used as a hair mask for dry and damaged hair, giving your hair an intense brilliance and making it feel ultra-soft to the touch. Please be warned that this product does not offer any UVA or UVB protection. It may be used for short periods of exposure to the sun on skin that is already tanned, as it does not contain a sun block.

I've always been a fan of tanning when on holiday and I've always liked a good tanning oil to help me along the way. Like other tanning oils I find this one to be different as it contains pieces of Tiare flower and it smells like flowers instead of your usual coconut scent! The light scent of flowers pleasantly lingers on your skin afterwards for quite some time, which is really nice. I also find that it doesn't leave your skin feeling overly greasy and it leaves you with very soft skin!

Overall I probably won't be repurchasing these products again due to the expensive of the products.

Tanning Oil £9.99 for 125ml and Sunscreen £15.99 for 125ml

Crazy Rumors Lip Balm in Mint Chocolate - Review

 Good enough to eat!

This Crazy Rumors Mint Chocolate flavoured lip balm is made with certified organic shea butter which is pressed from the pit of the karite fruit grown on the shea tree. These pits are collected, dried in the sun and then roasted. The result is a soft and creamy butter with amazing healing properties. Shea Butter contains nutrients such as vitamins A and E and is known to contain a natural UV protectant against the sun. Daily usage of Shea Butter limits the harmful effects of sun exposure while keeping skin soft and supple.

As soon as I opened this lip balm up I was welcomed with the smell of mint chocolate. I'm not a very big fan of mint on it's own, but mint chocolate, mmm! When I covered my lips with the balm I found that it made my lips tingle nicely, I thought this must be because of the mint. The lip balm leaves my lips feeling soft and smooth and never sticky. I really recommend this flavoured lip balm if you're a fan of mint chocolate chip ice cream (vegan please!). The next flavours I would like to try from Crazy Rumors is their Orange Juice and their pistachio lips balms!
