My Simple Essentials for Vegan & Cruelty Free Beginners!

I thought I would try and help out all of the beginners out there who are wanting to go vegan and cruelty free with their cosmetics! Here is a list of my simple cosmetic essentials that I have been relying on when getting ready in the morning and in the evening.

My Simple Essentials:

First off I brush my teeth with a LUSH Cosmetics Toothy Tab in the flavour 'Dirty' using my pink Preserve toothbrush* which is a vegan toothbrush made out plastic yogurt cups. I love Toothy Tabs as they're so simply and easy to use! I find that they're very cost effective and last longer than a tube of toothpaste. And because the packaging is 100% recyclable you're also left with no waste at all.

I then use the LUSH Cosmetics Tea Tree Toner Spray to refresh my face using my Love The Planet Cleansing Pads* which are washable. I love both of these products for different reasons, the spray helps to prevent breakouts and is great all around. And the washable cleansing pads are great for the environment as you're not throwing away any cotton wool pads!

I will then apply my Laidbare's Pack Your Bags Eye Cream* under my eyes to help prevent any black bags from appearing. Along with smothering my face in the Amie Skincare's Morning Dew Face Moisturiser. I love these products as they're non greasy and are both non-heavy light creams.

I then go onto using my LUSH Cosmetics Aromaco Solid Deodorant which I have fallen in love with since the first time I used it. The smell of it is something that you'll get used to but besides that this deodorant works wonder and really stops preparation, which is what I was looking for for ages in a vegan deodorant!

If I have any old or new spots I will apply my Laidbare Spot The Difference Spot Treatment Cream*. I've found this product really great as It soothes and calms my spots. And it also helps them go along their way to disappear.

My favourite lip balms to use are the Hurraw! Vanilla Bean Lip Balm* and the Crazy Rumors Black Cherry Lip Balm*. Both of these lip balms are simple yet very effective and both come in loads of different scents so you're bound to find the one for you!

When showering I will use The Green People's Fruit Face Scrub, I really like using this gentle face scrub and I feel like it does its job of removing any dead skin cells from my face. The smell of this reminds me a bit of suncream which I quite like.
I also use the Faith In Nature's Coconut Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash when showering. I really like the smell of coconut and I find these products are really good quality. They all seem to froth up well and go quite a long away so you don't need to use as much of the product! Faith In Nature have a wonderful wide variety so there's bound to be something you'll like!

After showering I will use Faith In Nature's Coconut Body Moisturiser. I quite like this body moisturiser as it a good thick cream that sinks in quickly but doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy afterwards.

I hope you've found my simple vegan and cruelty free essentials useful and I wish you all the best of luck with your new and exciting journey to find the best vegan and cruelty free cosmetics for you!

  1. This is a great list for people just beginning their cruelty-free journey! I love Faith In Nature products as they are really good value for money - their coconut hand cream is my favourite daytime hand cream! I also use re-usable cleansing pads - such an easy and simple change to make, and so much kinder to the environment. I really like the Crazy Rumors lip balm in raspberry sorbet, but my current favourite is Badger's cocoa butter vanilla bean lip balm! :) xxx
