Yes To Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub - Review

Say yes to grapefruit!

The Yes to Grapefruit Daily Facial Scrub is a gentle daily exfoliator to help slough away dead skin cells and restore your skin's natural radiance. It is formulated with Lemon Balm to help calm and repair damaged skin and Grapefruit, which naturally evens skin tone and enhances luminosity, leaving skin soft, smooth, and naturally hydrated. This face scrub is Petroleum, SLS and Paraben free, it is also 99% natural, vegan and cruelty free.

This facial scrub is the first one I have ever actually fully disliked because of one thing, it's smell. I ended up using this product once before realising that I hated it and that I wouldn't be using it again because of it's scent! I'm guessing the smell is meant to be a light scent of lemon and grapefruit but to me it smells kind of off and I couldn't get it off of my face quick enough. I wasn't really keen on how liquidly the product was either as I prefer a cream based scrub. It's a shame that I don't like the smell because I quite like the the product it's self as it's loaded with really fine grains which is great to help remove any dead skin cells from your face. As you can probably guess, I won't be purchasing this product again as I've come across much better smelling products compared to this one!

LUSH Cosmetics Aromaco Solid Deodorant & Square Tin - Review

Not long ago I posted a wish list of a few LUSH products that I wanted to try which I hadn't before. After I had put together my list I decided to spend a little on the LUSH website. I ended up buying half of the products that were on my list and asked for a few samples of the other ones on there. The product I wanted to share with you the most is the Aromaco Solid Deodorant!

LUSH describe their solid deodorant as a solid, gentle deodorant that absorbs odour and leaves you smelling as fresh as a daisy. Its essential oils and anti-bacterial ingredients work in harmony to keep you feeling fresh and dry. Aromaco contains witch hazel and chamomile vinegar to tighten pores rather than block them, helping you to keep cool and fresh. I fell in love when I read that it had an ingredient in it that tightens the pores rather than blocking them, as I've been looking for a vegan deodorant that will minimize perspiration for a while now.

I have to say this is the best deodorant I've ever come across since I've been searching for a vegan and cruelty-free deodorant. I can finally say that I've finally found my perfect vegan deodorant, hallelujah! I decided to also buy a square LUSH tin to store my solid deodorant in as I didn't want to have it out on the side all of the time. The tin isn't the best product that LUSH produce as it feels a little bit cheap, but it does its job at keeping the deodorant safe very well.

The solid deodorant comes in a block of 100g which looks like it will last me quite a long time. I ended up cutting the deodorant up so I could keep some in the tin to use every day and the rest I could put away for future use. All you have to do with this deodorant is rub a nice layer over your armpit and you're ready for the day! It does have an odd smell to it but you do get used to it and you can hardly smell it on you during the day. The deodorant seems to leave my underarms feeling really soft and the product doesn't dry out like other deodorants do. I really love this deodorant for travelling as well as you can take as little as you like and it weighs hardly anything! I've been using one of the black LUSH sample pots to store it in when I go away which is just the perfect size. Overall I will most definitely be buying this solid deodorant again and I don't think I'll ever look at another deodorant again!

Acorelle Sugar Wax Roll-On Kit With Strips - Review*

Wax Those Hairs Away!

I finally got around to trying out my second product that I chose from MyPure to review for them. I picked the vegan and cruelty free Acorelle Sugar Wax Roll-On Kit that also comes with ten washable and reusable waxing strips. Acorelle say that this easy to use roll-on was made with beginners to waxing in mind. They also say that the product is most commonly used on legs and under arms and is effective even on short hairs. They state that the formula is combined with organic cane sugar and lemon to remove hair and hair bulbs for approximately 3 weeks.

To heat up the wax all you have to do is pop it into the microwave for 15 seconds or if you're like me and don't have a microwave, simply pop it into a jug of warm water and leave it for 4 minutes. One of the good things about this kit is that if the wax gets too hot a line of 'NO's appear down the side of the bottle. If this warning does appear don't use the wax until that's disappeared, once it has then you can start using the wax. It's always best to apply the wax in the same direction as your hair growth. Once you've applied about two layers of the wax get your wax strip, firmly smooth it down, taut the skin and then quickly pull off the strip in the direction that's opposite of your hair growth.

I've always found waxing my armpits on my own difficult as it's hard to taut the skin whilst holding the waxing strip and then also trying to pull it off all in one go. I seemed to do pretty well this time and quite a few hairs came out, I was left with a few that I couldn't get out so I just plucked them out afterwards. Next time I think I'll get my Boyfriend to help me pull the wax strips off so that I can taut the skin a bit better.

When it came to cleaning and putting the product away, I was happily surprised at how easy it all was. To clean the kit all I did was rinse the roller and the waxing strips under warm water. When I did this the wax just seemed to melt away leaving me with a clean and non-sticky kit which was really surprising! Over time I've used quite a few waxing kits and so far this one seems to be the easiest and non-messiest one I've ever come across!

£12.49 for 100ml + 10 washable & reusable strips from MyPure

The Green People Peppermint & Aloe Vera Toothpaste - Review

Nature & Science in Balance!

The Green People Mint Toothpaste is made without fluoride, SLS, triclosan, sorbitol, parabens, methylisothiazolinone, methylchloroisothiazolinone, phthalates, artificial sweeteners, petrochemicals and colourants to bring you the purest toothpaste that nature can offer.

I've been using this Peppermint and Aloe Vera toothpaste made by The Green People for about a week now. I still can't believe how many natural toothpastes there are out there! I'm also really glad that I've found another toothpaste which is vegan, cruelty free, organic and has no nasties in it.

When brushing with this toothpaste I feel like I need a lot of this product to feel like my teeth are getting a good clean, this might be because it's quite a thin paste (due to no SLS) and I'm used to a thicker paste. I'm also not really keen on the taste of this toothpaste, it's not overpowering, but it does have quite a strong flowery taste to it. And for the price you're paying I think you're getting a pretty small tube of the product, which would get used up quite quickly when brushing twice a day. I don't think I'll buy this toothpaste again as it's not my favourite taste and texture, but I am really excited to try some other products that the Green People have to offer from their range!

Even though this isn't my favourite vegan and cruelty free toothpaste, I do recommend you try it as it might be perfect for you!

Lovea Green Clay Mask For Oily Skin - Review*

This is one for the oily skin sufferers out there.

I've recently joined the Mypure blogging team, which I'm so excited about! This means every month I get to choose any two products from the Mypure website (as long as it's under £30) to review. I spent ages going through everything vegan on their website looking for the two perfect products I wanted to try out. After a while I finally found two products and this was one of them... the Lovea Green Clay Mask for oily skin!

This naturally made face mask is vegan friendly, cruelty free and is also a certified organic product. It's also paraben, dye, silicone, phenoxyethanol, PEG, nano and artificial fragrance free. For this mask all you have to do is apply a thin layer all over the face, but avoiding your eye area. Leave it on your face for about 5 minutes, but without letting the mask fully dry on the skin. And then rinse it all away with warm water and then apply your usual moisturiser, easy peasy!

Although on the back of the packaging it's stated that it's fragrance free, It has quite a strong smell of marzipan and almonds, but when I had the mask on, I couldn't smell anything at all. This mask is thinner than the face masks I've used before but it doesn't seem it effect the actual product. It seems to dry very well and doesn't flake off all over the place like most do. It seemed to soak up all of my excess oil I had around my T zone beforehand and I was left with oil free skin! After washing the mask off of my face, I was left with smooth and soft skin. It did make my face feel quite tight after washing it away, but after applying my usual face moisturiser it was fine.

Overall when I run out of this product I'll definitely be keeping this face mask in mind, as it's so easy to use and it's much better than ones I've used before.

Hello Mouthwash in Pink Grapefruit Mint - Review

More rinsing, less wincing.

After seeing the Hello products online and realising you could only get the range in America, I had been lusting over them for a while wishing we could get them out here in the UK. And just like magic they appeared in one of my local Boots stores! Hello are a brand who produce naturally friendly products such as mouthwashes, toothpaste, breath sprays and toothbrushes (I've only found the mouthwashes here so far) which are free from alcohol, artificial colours, artificial sweeteners, dyes and harsh chemicals. Their products are all vegan, cruelty free and they wouldn't have it any other way apparently, which is great!

After looking at the price of the mouthwash I wasn't sure about buying, but when I came across them in store they were half price! So at only £3.99 I ended up buying two of the Pink Grapefruit Mint flavoured mouthwashes. I bought this flavour as I knew I liked it as I had tried a sample (I also tried the Spearmint and the Mojito Mint but they were too strong for me!) from my Boyfriend's Sister, who actually came across them in Boots.

I like this mouthwash so much I've been trying to limit my usage of the product! The flavour might not be for everyone as it's quite unusual and it's nothing like I've tried before. In my previous mouthwash reviews I've said that I'm very picky with my mouthwashes as I don't like them too strong, but this sweet fruity mouthwash is perfect for me as it's not strong like the usual mint ones and you're not left with a burning sensation in your mouth afterwards.

The only disappointing thing that definitely needs redesigning is the top of the bottle! I quite like the unusual shape of the bottle and the bright colours it offers us, but once you've opened it you have to be careful not to knock it over as the lid just sits and slightly locks in place on top of the mouth shaped opening. Once used the mouthwash also seems to get around inside the lid making it sticky. I wouldn't recommend this mouthwash bottle to children to use, as one knock and £5.99 will be down the sink, literally! Besides my last point about the design of the bottle top being poor, I'm really excited as I've finally found my 'perfect' vegan and cruelty free mouthwash. Hurraw!

My Vegan LUSH Wishlist - Untried Products.

I've been into LUSH for a while now, probably since I was in my early teens! And over the years I've built up a selection of products that I love, rely on, and buy when I've run out of them. If I'm ever near a LUSH store when out I can't walk past without having a quick look! The atmosphere is great in most LUSH stores I've been to and there's always something new to check out. I never usually come out of a store with anything I haven't tried before though (other than bath bombs), so I thought I'd put together a current wishlist of the vegan LUSH products I am yet to try out but would like to get my hands on...
